The dutch oven / stewpots are made of an innovative ceramic technology that is remarkably hard and flameproof so it can be used directly on a heat source whether it is a stovetop or grill and then can be placed in the oven to roast or bake. The dutch oven / stewpots direct heat tolerance is so high that it, unlike most metal, glass or ceramic cookware, can sit on a very hot open flame, empty, for an extended period of time and it won't crack, discolor or break.
