Apple-Pecan Crunch Pie  recipe

Temperature: 425° F

Ingredients

FILLING
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 6 cups sliced peeled apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
SPICY PECAN TOPPING
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Prepared 1 unbaked 9" pie shell (heart shaped pan requires more pie dough)
FILLING:
Sprinkle chopped pecans in bottom of pie shell. Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Turn into pie shell and spread topping (see recipe) over apple mixture.
Bake in hot oven (425 degrees F) 40 to 45 minutes, or until apples are tender and pie top is a rich brown.
SPICY PECAN TOPPING:
Mix butter or margarine, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon until completely blended. Stir in 1/4 cup chopped pecans.
