Temperature: 375° F
Ingredients
- Eight (8) apples (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbs butter
- 1 Tbs lemon juice
- 1 tsp milk
- 1 Tbs sugar
- 1 Refrigerated Roll Out Pie Crust
Instructions
Gather all grandchildren (I have one - Kayla). Together put bottom crust in Emile Henry pie plate (purchased at William Somona). Add four (4) apples that are pealed, corded and thinly slice. Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon; put 1/2 mixture on top of apples. Add another four (4) apples (peal, cord, sliced). Top with remaining sugar/flour/cinnamon mixture. Cut butter on top of apples; sprinkle with lemon juice. Top with 2nd crust; crink edges together. Rub top of crust with milk; sprinkle with sugar. NOTE: MUST BE 8 apples; no less! Make a design on top crust. Bake 375 degrees for 1 hour. Of course, Grandma Berta made her own crust with milk, crisco and flour.
