National Pie Day Recipe Contest

Emile Henry announces a National Pie Contest in honor of National Pie Day on January 23, 2012. The contest called "How Pretty Is Your Pie" begins on Thanksgiving Day and ends on January 15, 2012. Winners will be announced on the and the websites on National Pie Day. So bakers should heat up their ovens and bake a pretty pie.

To participate in the Emile Henry Pie Contest, bakers need to submit a pie recipe and a photo of their pie baked in an Emile Henry pie dish. Let us know in the submittal of recipe where you bought your Pie Dish. (can be included with the instructions of recipe.) Photos and recipes should be uploaded onto the submission form (using the 2011 Pie Contest category) on the website. Entries can also be emailed ([email protected] SUBJECT - HOW PRETTY IS YOUR PIE CONTEST?) or mailed to Emile Henry (see below for address). It's that simple. The top winner will receive a $500 Baking Essentials Set and a free trip to the 17th Annual APC/Crisco(r) National Pie Championships in Orlando, FL on April 27 - 29. Four runners up will receive a $50 Baking Set.

The travel package includes a hotel room for 2 nights at the Caribe Royale, free baking space at the pie championship, free entry of the winning pie into the Pie Contest and a free Membership to the American Pie Council®. The $500 Baking Essential Prize package includes an Emile Henry Flame-Top Stewpot, Pie Dish, Lasagna Dish and Oval Gratin Dish. The package includes a Duralex 10pc Stackable Bowl Set, a Rosle Pie Lifter, Pastry Brush, Egg Whisk, Balloon Whisk, Flat Whisk, Pastry wheel., Zester and Fruit Corer. Also included is a Mauviel M'Cook Saucepan. Retail Value ("ARV"): $1000. Four Runners-Up Prizes: $50 Baking Set.
