Salt Cellar Burgundy

5 reviews
Untreated, natural sea salt is especially susceptible to moisture and clumping. Thanks to its cork lid, the Salt Cellar keeps the salt dry & clean and also readily available for cooking. Simply lift the lid to scoop out the salt with a spoon or measuring tool. Unlike other materials, cork and ceramic are not susceptible to salt's corrosive properties. Stackable for space saving storage.

Salt Celler

It's great to look at but not very functional. The cork top is milled to fit very snuggly into the bowl. The problem is how to get them apart! there's nothing to easily grab hold of from the top or bottom to pull theme apart! So for now I don't put the lid on but just rest it on top. Someone needs to rethink this design.

So beautiful

I use this to keep my Maldon salt dry. The combination of the creme color and cork is beautiful and whenever I see this salt cellar, I feel happy.

best of both worlds

I live in a dry climate and use chunky Celtic sea salt, so the primary use of the cork lid to seal out moisture is not a selling point for me, as it is best that “living” salt breathe, however the beauty of the cork lid is that by simply loosely resting it rather than pressing it down into the dish to create a seal, the natural tiny variances between parts of the cork do still allow in some air. The dish itself is fun to pick up and move as its bulging shape gives room for the hand under its edge and has a center of gravity that is relatively high. It’s hard to describe why moving it is fun, but I find it to be so. The shape is also aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion. I find it much more suitable for chunky salt than a box, especially a very small box that would be finicky to pinch into with coarse grains and that I would have to refill often (this cellar holds quite a bit of salt!). I’m very happy with this salt cellar.
