Emile Henry's covered rectangular baker is shaped from Burgundian clay, which absorbs, distributes and retains heat evenly, so gratins, casseroles, and lasagnas brown to perfection. Its custom lid is thoughtfully crafted with a domed shape and tight-fitting sides to circulate moisture while roasting poultry, braising meats, and simmering stews. The vibrant, hand-applied glaze offers beautiful oven-to-table presentation and exceptional durability for lasting enjoyment.

Resistance Against Mechanical Shocks: During everyday use, there are many opportunities to bang a dish or a set of plates. Particularly resistant to shocks, our ceramic is even used in restaurants!
Resistance Against Temperature Changes: A dish or stewpot should be able to withstand wide variations in temperature. Our ceramics allow our products to be taken directly from the freezer to the hot oven (+250°C/500°F).
Resistance Against Fading Colors: Heat, the dishwasher or sharp instruments will all have an aging effect on a product. Our glazes are particularly resistant to the dishwasher and the most aggressive of detergents.

We are therefore pleased to offer a 10 year guarantee on all Emile Henry products. Our warranty covers any production fault or quality problem with the product when used in a normal domestic environment, and respecting the care and use instructions. Any variation in the finish of the item is due to the handiwork carried out in our workshops and does not alter in any way the culinary qualities of our dishes. Warranty not valid for commercial and foodservice use.

I purchase all of my clay/ceramic wares from Emile Henry because it’s the only one of my favorite companies that still manufactures all of its wares in its home country instead of only some while everything else is manufactured in Asia. I purchased this casserole dish directly from Emile Henry because I liked the size and color better than a similar one the company is selling through Sur la Table, and to avoid receiving a counterfeit product. It arrived In good time and it was well-packaged so it made it to me undamaged. The casserole dish is well-made and it is attractive, like all of my other Emile Henry goods.
