Apple Crumble

  • 4 apples, peeled, cored, cut into ¼ slices.
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla bean (or 2 tsp vanilla extract)
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • for crumble 1 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Temperature: 350 ° F

Place sliced apples, butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar in saute pan. Cook over medium/ medium low heat for 7-10 minutes. You don’t want to overcook the apples because then they lose their crunch. In a mixer, cream the butter. Add sugar and flour and mix just until large crumbs form. Pour cooked apples into the Emile Henry pie dish. Distribute the crumb topping over the apples. Bake in a 350Fpreheated oven for 30 minutes.
