Asian Inspired Ribs

  • 3 1/2 pounds ribs
  • 1tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar plus 3tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce or chutney
  • 1 Tbsp Tabasco or hot chili garlic sauce
  • 1/4 tsp dried chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Temperature: 300F ° F

In a bowl combine all your ingredients except ribs. Add the ribs and coatwith the sauce. Place mixture in your tagine and cook at 300F degrees for 2.5 hours or until fork tender. The sauce will lurk at the bottom so move the rib pieces around a few times during the cooking process. If you would like this dish to cook slower you may cook at 250degrees...for 5-6 hours. You also may exchange beef for either chicken or pork ribs.Chicken with bone in will take longer. I used flanken ribs. Serve with rice or couscous. Side note: you can add any vegetables to this dish. Layer them on top of the meat when you start the cooking process
