Cheesecake Brownies


  • 1 (8 ounce) package Philadelphia cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Temperature: 350 ° F


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease your 9x9 baking dish. Combine cream cheese with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 egg in a mixing bowl; beat until smooth. Add 1 cup of chocolate chips into the cream cheese mixture. Set aside. In a double boiler melt the butter with the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips, stir until just melted and mix together. In a separate bowl, whisk the remaining ½ cup sugar with the 2 eggs. Add it to the chocolate/butter mixture whisking constantly so you don’t “cook” the eggs. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into chocolate until evenly blended. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the chocolate layer. Top with a chocolate layer. Using a knife or fork, swirl the layers together. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool.
