Please note, this item is considered a second choice by our factory in France. All seconds are handmade using our usual crafting methods, but with minor glazing or ceramic blemishes, neither of which minimize the quality of performance. In an effort to minimize our impact on the environment, unglazed items are recycled and the materials reused. For the same reason, we've decided to make our seconds available for purchase at a significant discount. They are final sale.If you're visiting the Burgundy region of France, you can shop our ceramic seconds in our physical Emile Henry Factory Shop, located in Marcigny. In the U.S., seconds are available online only.

Elegance meets function with our spacious bread box. Thoughtfully designed for creating an environment that perfectly balances humidity, essential for bread with a soft interior, and providing the air circulation necessary for maintaining a crisp outer crust. Our design is intentionally large enough to allow for air circulation, yet compact enough to fit neatly on a counter top.  The wooden lid, smooth on the top, is grooved on the cutting side for collecting crumbs when slicing bread.
